My boss often hired international students during the summer. One foreign student dropped a hammer and my boss said ‘damn foreigner!’, then caught himself and tried to make light of it. Franz was standing nearby and my boss asked ” how do you say ‘damn foreigner in French?”.
Without batting an eye, Franz said “American tourist”.
