How do I convince my parent to pay for a vacation for my friend ?

This year, my father and I are taking our annual trip to the Dominican Republic. Usually my sister also comes along but she won’t be able to make this year because of her new job. I’m grateful to being going again but it won’t be the same w/out my sister and I would like someone to acompany me, who is around my age, on the trip. My friend’s parent doesnt have enough money to pay for her to go & I would like to enjoy something like this w/ her. I would like my friend to come along also because then I would have someone to enjoy daily activities like swimming, snorkeling, and so on. My dad is old in age and can’t do all those things. So what are some things I can say or do to try to convince my dad why he should pay for my friend to go ?

When I meant old in age, he is about 60 something. He is still able to do certain things but he likes laying around & soaking up the sun. So I don’t want to bother him with all the physical activites I want to do. Oh, also my friend & I are 19 years old.

I dont think you should even consider asking your dad to pay for it,
tell him you would like a friend to go, and it is too bad she cant afford it,
if he does not volunteer..
do not whine, beg or conjole
and enjoy the time with him..if he is old age…you dont have lots of time left with him….you will miss him soon enough and wish you had spent the time doing things he can do

Ask him if you wouldn’t mind, because you’re sister isn’t going, if it would be alright if your friend took her place. Explain also why you want your friend to go.
