I’m cruising to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas, any fun activities?

Heather L asked:

My boyfriend and I are 26 and taking a January Carnival cruise to the Mexican Riviera, but we don’t want to spend a lot of money on the ship’s shore excursions, any ideas on fun things to do that are free or are worth the expense? We’re in Puerto Vallarta from 8am to 10pm, Mazatlan 9am to 6pm, and Cabo 7am to 4pm, which seems short…

Mexican Wedding Destinations?

Kristin R asked:

I want to get married in Mexico in October or November 2008. I am having a difficult time finding a comprehensive list of resorts that have wedding packages and contact information. Does anyone know where to get this information for places such as Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Riviera Maya? Also any suggestions on specific resorts (other than Palace resorts, which I am quite familar with) would be much appreciated.

Where can I go on vacation with a family of 5 and not spend too much money? Resorts in Mexico or the carribb?

Maria H asked:

I’vew been to Riviera Maya 2 years ago and loved it. We spent 5,000. Now we have another baby and everything seems to be so expensive. Im looking to spend about 3,500 for an all-inclusive package. Also, im finding that lots of hotels do not take 5 people in one room. Help, I really need to go somewhere????

Question about destinations in Mexico?

Amanda M asked:

Hello!
My family will go going on a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Mexican Riviera in April and I just wondered about some of the cities. We will be stopping in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. I know that there are shore excursions you can sign up for through the cruise line, but we are looking at doing some things on our own.
My biggest question is if there are any kind of ruins in these cities? I know that there are tons on the other coast of Mexico, but I just wondered if there were some on the West coast.

Thanks for the info!!

Things to do in Mayan Riviera?

adorable_pish asked:

I’m planning a trip to the Mayan Riviera.. not sure when yet.. but I need some ideas on what I can do while I’m there… aside from drinking lol, or bars.. got that covered. I’m staying at the Riu Yucatan so anywhere near there in the suggestions would be awesome because I’d have to pay cab fare or rent a car.

Here’s what I am interested in doing(that the hotel might not offer)
scuba diving.
shopping.
sight seeing of local culture/wild life.
craft shop? make your own mexican treasure maybe??

I really I don’t know what the mayan riviera has to offer… so suggestions/good informative links are appreciated.
Thanks.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Dreams Tulum resort in the Yucatan?

cbbfish asked:

If so, could you fill us in on the situation there? We would really like to stay there but have heard that the hotel is under major construction. We’re going in May. Also, what is the restaurant situation like? Do they actually let you eat at their a la carte’s, unlike other all-inclusives? Is the food good? Is it difficult to get tours from there, being that it’s a ways away from the rest of the riviera? How is the staff - speak English? I’ve read tons of reviews but none have really answered these ?s we have. Thanks!

What’s the best area of the Riviera Maya for me to stay?

Bebe asked:

Hi guys. I am planning a future trip to Mexico. I live in Philadelphia. It will be me, my husband & 3 year old son. We are in our 20’s. I can’t spend alot of money, but like a regular trip on a budget is fine. I decided I would like to go to the Riviera Maya area of Mexico, but I don’t want Cancun. I want to stay somewhere that tourists are welcome, but I dont want to be around alot of tourists. I want to see the non-tourist stuff & get a real feeling of the culture & area. I speak a good amount of spanish & my husband is fluent (were puerto rican), so thats not a problem. I want to go somewhere without a ton of American chain restaraunts & hotels, but I still need a few convieninces. I want a nice beach close by. & I want to see all the Mayan ruins. I dont want a huge party place, but a few local bar/grill type places would be nice. What are do you think is best for me?? Please help. Thanks
What about Tulum or Cozumel? Anything else…
Well Ive been to Tijuana & never had any problems..

Maya Riviera?

Twinky asked:

My mom and I are trying to plan a trip to mexico together. She’s never been and is facinated with the Mayan Culture. The catch is, I’m in charge of everything. Finding the hotel, taking care of things to do etc etc..

I’ve never planned a trip this big in my life. We’re planning to go for one week, maybe a few days over. I’m not sure where to start, I got a few magazines from a travel agency nearby. My mom really want to go see the mayan buildings and my ideal vacation is enjoying my time at the beach and this year I really want to learn how to Kiteboard.

What should I do? What am I looking for? Is there a big difference between all inclusive and just booking a trip and taking care of things as you go?

Any tips for a first time travel planner would be great, thanks so much!
