Suggestions to improve my French speaking quickly?

AG1975 asked:

I took French in public and secondary school for years so I think I am beyond Rosetta Stone and similar, but I have gotten pretty rusty and have never been to the point of being conversational. At this point I can read it and make some sense of it, and can awkwardly ask basic questions. I am visiting two French speaking places in the next few months and would like to make the experience easier, and not be that annoying non-French speaking tourist. Any ideas? Web-based program? Intermediate software that doesn’t require the basic version to get started? Mac only, btw.
Thanks!

what are the requirements and procedures to apply for a long stay visa for St Vincent & the Grenadines?

Matahari asked:

I am a Singapore citizen and my boys are French and American citizen. I am thinking of moving to St.Vincent and make it our home. What are the requirements and procedures to apply for a PR/long stay visa? And how or where can I get more information for places to stay (not those tourist resorts or hotels for tourists) Basically a place to stay as a local.

Why do you think that french people don’t like american so much ?

Contre Courant asked:

Please consider this question seriously, not on basical reaction of anti-american.
I say “french” but it’s right for so many countries . . . It might be a reason.

Maybe because of the american political / social choices, (political and individual) american attitudes towards little countries or individual attitude of american people as tourist in foreign countries.

But I really would like to know what YOU mean. Thanks.
kaththea s : please open your history book :-) English people did what happened to Jean d’Arc . . . And they are mainly your roots . . . (please read carefully how about the attitude of England along its history; What happened to China with opium is a very good example of english goals . . .)

For all the people talking about how good/bad are LAmerican countries and how easy or not is to change them?

Ignatiusreilly asked:

In how many Latin American countries have you been? Resorts or similar sites in Puerto Vallarta or Cancun or Bavaro don’t count as Latin America.

Some help. Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Republica Dominicana, Haiti, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brasil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile are Latin American countries.

European territories in the Caribbean (as Martinique) or South America (As French Guyana) aren’t. Neither are Belize, Jamaica or other ex British colonies nor US territories as Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands.

A question about check-in times in French hotels?

Sol asked:

Flights from Canada to Paris are overnight. It’s unlikely that I’ll be able to sleep on the plane (it will be my first flight). Upon arrival, I will be very, very tired and will want to have a snooze at the hotel. It should be early to mid-morning in France then, so I was wondering what the chances are of my being able to check in right away? Where I live, it’s usually only possible to check in by early afternoon, but since Paris is a top tourist destination and flights coming from Canada and probably the US also are overnight, do they accomodate the need to sleep?
