Has anyone honeymooned in the Mayan Riviera?

Became Mrs.H 5.31.08!! asked:

We are planning our honeymoon for this August (delayed honeymoon because I am a teacher) and we love the Mayan Riviera, but can’t decide on a resort! They all look great!

Has anyone been there on their honeymoon, or vacation too, and can you recommend a resort?

Thank you!!

Royal Sonesta Hotel - French Quarter New Orleans Hotels?

SWO_gearhead asked:

Staying in August. The primary hotels I am considering are the Royal Sonesta and Inn on Bourbon. I realize that staying on Bourbon it will be noisy, but I am looking for opinions on which is a higher quality hotel. I also appreciate any other suggestions on hotels in the same area.

How Many People Who Hate the French Have Actually ever Been There?

Ali G asked:

I lived there for a year, had a great time, and all of the non-tourist Americans, Brits, Aussies, and Canadians I met had a saying.

“Cool people have a cool time with the French”.

Do you agree?
To follow up.
Most French admire Americans very much. Our popular culture is everywhere there. They just despise the backwoods cowboy hick swagger stuff. And I agree.
Also, I was constantly embarrassed by the rude Americans there. Not everyone, but quite a few. The French are right to treat them rudely in kind.
lkarl K - By “cool” I mean being respectful in a foreign country, maybe even learning the language a bit, and not running around like a loud mouthed American jerk in public and treating the place like a theme park. Know what I mean? Probably not.

Need French teacher and girlfriend. Trade for free holiday in the tropics?

Iniaz asked:

I had asked for a Russian teacher/girlfriend as I work in Russian speaking countries. But I also work in French speaking ones too. So any french ladies who would like to holiday in the tropics and teach me French at the same time? Free board and lodging at a beach resort. This is for real. No hype.

Is the French government effective?

topazeyes asked:

I’m planning on living there a few years for fashion school and I’d love to know what kind of place I’ll be living in.

1. How many dollars is one euro?

2. How quiet is a middle-class neighborhood? (I heard that they are not living in Paris, where tourism is so its quieter. In Paris, the tourists get robbed a lot because they are not familiar with the country)

Any more info will be great too!
